    Baker : Job Description

    We are a small team running a high volume production kitchen and preparing to open our first storefront. Any new person joining us should be energetic, good natured, reliable (we depend on each other to get through the day), used to the rhythm of food production, likes the satisfaction of making excellent and tasty treats, and enjoys crossing items off a list (the job is very task oriented).

    A basic summary:

    • be able to read and follow high volume recipes

    • able to lift 25lb regularly and, with help, up to 50lb

    • able to stand all day

    • communicates well with coworkers and managers

    • ensures the shift lists are accomplished and assists co-workers as needed

    Duties and Requirements

    • Baking items consistently and with care.

    • Follow our large scale recipes from mixer to oven, precisely and efficiently.

    • Prepare and pack wholesale and retail orders.

    • Monitor quality. Plan production. Get the day’s work done.

    • Clean. Every team member keeps their work station and equipment clean, washes dishes, mops, sweeps, and takes out the trash and recycling.

    • Communicate. Give and follow verbal and written directions.

    • Report to work, on time, in appropriate clothing. Nails need to be polish free. Non-slip kitchen shoes are required.

    • Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift, be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds, and be comfortable with repetitive tasks.

    • Must be over 18 years of age.

    • Experience being a shift lead.

    • Follow all food and personal safety guidelines.

    Qualifications

    • Food industry experience or equivalent education.

    • Consistent employment history and verifiable references.

    • Ability to focus and stay committed to each task.

    • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation requirements of the ODA and FDA and knowledge of HAACP and allergen controls is an asset.

    • Strong reading comprehension and competency with basic math.

    • Desire to learn and grow and be able to give and accept feedback.

    What we offer

    • Full time or part time available. Saturday availability is required.

    • With experience starting wage is $18, without experience $15.
